The EtD-FaM project coordination meeting at the University of Djibouti brought together key project partners to assess progress and reinforce collaborative efforts. Representatives from Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences and the project coordinator met with University of Djibouti officials to review the progress of the project, which is dedicated to empowering women in Ethiopia and Djibouti through the establishment of makerspaces.
Participants had the opportunity to tour the University of Djibouti’s FabLab and engineering laboratory/workshop, both of which provide students with access to advanced digital design tools, prototyping technologies, and state-of-the-art equipment. The FabLab, in particular, will work closely working with the EtD-FaM team to establish and sustain a female-focused makerspace at the university. This effort aligns with the broader mission of the project, which is to promote women’s engagement in innovation and entrepreneurship.
The meeting concluded with a strong commitment to accelerating the next phase of the project, focusing on the establishment and sustainability of makerspaces that drive innovation and entrepreneurship among women in both Ethiopia and Djibouti.

La réunion de coordination du projet EtD-FaM à l’Université de Djibouti a rassemblé les principaux partenaires du projet pour évaluer les progrès et renforcer les efforts de collaboration. Le représentant de l’Université des sciences appliquées de Heilbronn et le coordinateur du projet ont rencontré des responsables de l’Université de Djibouti pour faire le point sur l’avancement du projet, qui vise à autonomiser les femmes en Éthiopie et à Djibouti grâce à la création d’espaces de fabrication (makerspaces).
Les participants ont eu l’occasion de visiter le FabLab et le laboratoire/atelier d’ingénierie de l’Université de Djibouti, qui permettent tous deux aux étudiants d’accéder à des outils de conception numérique avancés, à des technologies de prototypage et à des équipements de pointe. Le FabLab, en particulier, travaillera en étroite collaboration avec l’équipe d’EtD-FaM pour établir et maintenir un makerspace axé sur les femmes à l’université. Cet effort s’inscrit dans la mission plus large du projet, qui est de promouvoir l’engagement des femmes dans l’innovation et l’entrepreneuriat.
La réunion s’est conclue par un engagement fort en faveur de l’accélération de la prochaine phase du projet, axée sur la création et la pérennisation d’espaces de créativité qui stimulent l’innovation et l’esprit d’entreprise chez les femmes en Éthiopie et à Djibouti.
